El bebé misterioso

Shy BabyImage by blunted via Flickr

After what seemed like the longest week of my life, Matt and I had our second ultrasound on Friday morning. If you've seen my Facebook status for that day, then you know "Baby Sully" wasn't much in the revealing-mood. He/She was curled in a tight little ball, legs firmly pressed together.

Now, it's hard to be upset or disappointed at the alien when it looked so damn comfortable! And we both knew the most important part of Friday's appointment was making sure the little tyke is healthy. It was. (heart rate a strong 145) Still, the suspense is killing me! And I'm sure all of you. But for now, we're going to have to wait and hope that next time its not quite so demure. The ball is in baby's court. Although, it would be appropriate karma if baby made us wait 9 months after making you Grandmas-to-be wait 30+ years.

Whole30 - Day 2

I popped out of bed today with a meal plan in place and feeling pretty proud for completing yesterday. Bring on Day 2! Day 2 How the book says I'll feel : "The Hangover." I was to expect headaches, fogginess and general blah-ness. How I actually feel : Pretty good considering how I (well, we) felt when we went to bed last night. I was expecting to be pained and dumb today. No pain. No dumb. Breakfast was good. (And lovingly prepared by the Hubs) I wasn't actually very hungry but finished it like a good girl knowing that I would be famished soon if I didn't. My headache is gone and I went to bed without heartburn for the first time in about a week. #winning I am sad to report, however, that coffee sans cream is still grody. The Hubs also prepared a delicious protein salad for lunch. I licked my plate clean. I was feeling pretty hungry right before. (ate a few almonds) But the salad was great and very satisfying. Still had to pick up a few things at the ...

It's a girl!

22 weeks in and this little girl is growing like crazy! I've nicknamed her "the dancer" because it always feels like she's gettin' down. She put on quite the show at the ultrasound session. It was pretty amazing. Matt's paternal instinct immediately kicked in -- "I get to be mean to boys!" Love it. Now to give her a name....

I'm back!

A while ago, my laptop died. There was no warning, no clue that something was wrong. As suddenly as it had come into my life, it drifted away and with it, my blog, my therapy...and a little bit of my sanity. There it sat in a drawer mocking me. With every intention to get it fixed a funny thing happened - life. You know, that thing that occurs while you're busy making plans? And just like that it was forgotten ... until a few weeks ago. A friend said, "Let me take a look." And here we are. The best Christmas presents are those that are already paid for, aren't they?! So now I find myself a few years later, a little older, hopefully a little wiser, most definitely a little more tired thinking of trying this blogging thing again. It seems so appropriate that it should start at the beginning of the year. I know, I know... all aboard the bandwagon . I'm not into resolutions, really. But if I'm looking at this as a new beginning, I guess I can set some goals, rig...
